Visual Artist

Maria Papacharalambous

In her solo exhibition at Diaspro Art Center in 1997 at one of the three spaces of the gallery she created one interactive playful kinetic installation 13 meters long, with mechanisms for the  flying dresses, made out of light alternative materials, travelling in space. The spectator should mannage to cross the line with the flying dresses in order to move to the other site of the exhibition.
There were 45 mixed media structures/microsculptures with the theme "dresses" and 15 mixed media structures/microsculptures with the theme "clones".

Works from this series were used in the awarded animation film "a stroll" made in 2005 in collaboration with Achilleas Kentonis.
